i haven't posted anything in what seems like forever because i got a ~tumblr~ and a blogspot blah blah blah. anyway, Master P has a TV show...i want Master P to give me incentive on getting a job because i'm a total slacker and i've been putting off getting a job for the longest time. i kind of feel like this gang banger dude but i never have sold drugs, always have my cell phone on me, and don't have a girlfriend or kid. this concludes my stupid post. |

so for the first time in awhile i felt really motivated to get a job...it wasn't because i wanted to see a concert or buy something, either...which is weird since i kind of want to see Afrika Bambata at DEMF this year (this wasn't the driving inspiration earlier to come up with this, though...maybe it's just because i feel like i've been super lazy lately and need to do something...i guess i also want something to occupy my time over the summer other than third semester of french and ethics class...mainly i just need money! i was talking to kelly's friend jeff the other day and he was saying he could possibly get me a job at the foreign language lab which would be good since my other choices include taking the bus to royal oak and working somewhere around there...i don't want to work in royal oak and deal with stupid old folks with their bourgeois shit (i always feel that way when i go back home...i always see old people everywhere i go...what's with that? is the Main Art theatre just for old people now? or do i just like to see movies that old people like? i mean i saw tons of kids my age at the DFT for TOKYO! and then i go see Milk at the Main Art and feel like i'm at a retirement home showing of it [sans Gordon and Renee being there]). anyway, i can't wait until tomorrow is over with. |

i'm so tired right now and i have so much studying and working to do before my french final tomorrow...i hate that french has been the most stressful crap of this semester. anyway, the wild one is on TCM right now and so i'm watching that before i start my french homework/ studying. this is really really lame! |

today was the weirdest day. i went to class, we watched our final projects after nearly an hour of stalling. then we watched this one girl's final because she wasn't at her own class to view it and she was acting super weird and then all of a sudden she just passed out and we all freaked out and called the ambulance and she woke up and freaked out and was yelling at all of us and then i guess she kept on zoning out and i guess she had a warrant out for her arrest and so she didn't want the cops to come and then she went into another room and we ate a big ben and watched panda dog videos on youtube and then right after the girl was escorted out of the room by the cops in handcuffs we watched my final and the instructor was kind of flabbergasted and that was mainly because of the whole situation that happened beforehand...then we ate some more big ben and she let us go and after that i went to the detroit public library and bought a huge book about graphic arts and a book about soviet union era photography put out by national geographic in the 80s...and i went and turned in my final project production folder and blah...stuff happened today...it was weird...only one final to go...frenchhhhhh damn you!!! oh yeah and one of the people in my class today showed her documentary on reading penises and we were all excited...all of us! |

my great aunt attempted suicide the other day...i got the news after i got back from Tokyo! at the DFT...it was kind of shocking since it seemed like she would be against the idea of suicide and all. from what i've heard, she's doing ok (although, really how can you be ok after an attempted suicide?), they pumped her stomach (she swallowed a bunch of pills that my uncle tried to hide from her). i guess she said she was tired of living a week ago. i'm still kind of shaken by that whole thing. i hate this! |

i went to mexicantown (and the taco stand), bought some delicious tacos and some guacamole and chips...then spent some money at value world (what tore at my heart strings was a pair of pastel blue sunglasses with a bunny face attached to it...so i bought that...AND A BOOMBOX FOR $9!!! NOW I CAN LISTEN TO MY NEW WAVE/ KOMMIE KILPATRICK TAPE!!! if you haven't done so, buy the kommie kilpatrick tape, it's pretty damn good!). i wanted this amazing coat that they had at value world but i had to decide whether or not i wanted to buy that or the boombox and the boombox was so necessary...i could carry around that muh-fucka around the block and be like "yo, man, let's listen to some flock of seagulls!" ugggh i'm really tired!!! so so so tired!!! |

so today i'm pretty sure this british girl in my math class was flirting with me about movies after class...ummm it was kinda weird but also kind of adorable...the british accent made my heart flutter. goddamn it!!!
in other news: i went with kelly beagan to get checkers in hamtramck...it was sooooooo damn good...a big buford and the checkers fries were all i needed in life today
we plan on going to Kelly Pink-o's Fierce hot mess tonight...it's a sloppy good time in case you didn't see vince's post that mentions it...i've gone like almost every month and i can tell you that it's really fun (last month i partied till my face exploded...it was fantastic!)
this weather is weird...it seems really cold for the fall and that really bothers me.
tomorrow alx micallef and i plan on band practice and that should be so fun...little tikes piano is going to be hard to take along with me...also, tomorrow is Jay-Z at Cobo Hall for free...that should be fantastic...i hope he plays "money ain't a thang" because that song lately has been my theme song in the best way possible
this post is done and i think i really want to see the patti smith movie someday soon...like when it plays at the DFT...somehow british girl in my math class doesn't know who patti smith is and that makes me sad since everyone should be graced with knowledge about Patti...like, seriously, she's amazing...i don't have to get into it because all of us know how great she is...oh and also she hasn't heard of un chien andalou either and that also made me sad.
i think joe is doing some repairs on something downstairs (although it sounds like he's destroying something...really...like it sounds like he's damaging shit). the end....really |

I HAVE AN INTERVIEW AT MERCURY COFFEE BAR IN CORKTOWN ON TUESDAY...only problem is that i have to wake up really early in the morning in order to ride my bike there and hopefully not get lost...i have class later on that day too...it's my first day of class and that should be super lame...especially because the first class i start is a class i already took (but failed). another class i have is a class i already took but passed. another class features shannon as a classmate and that's just awesome!!! hip hip for the african american film experience on wednesday!!! i must say, i had a fantastic day yesterday and today. i went to taco stand with shannon and was introduced to some insanely amazing songs ("pussytown" and "you dirty fucking whore" [is that the title?!]). i, then, went to northern lights and had an amazing batch of fish and chips for cheap and then went and relaxed. today, i went to ikea (didn't buy anything) with alex and her roommates and their friends and after that i went back to her dorm/apartment and we watched who are you polly magoo which was great (as always). i know it's simple, but it was a good kind of simple...i guess tomorrow, i'm going to go record shopping and get lunch with my aunt and my cousin zach...that should be fun if it indeed happens...the end. |

i went to the fourth street party for aran and adam and tried vegetarian burgers...they sucked! i had amazing chips and salsa, a brownie, and some other things...afterward i went to noise camp which was amazing...i saw the uproars and was blown away...they are so great....they did a cover of the bad brains' song "attitude"...i got three awesome ribbons that read "noise camp: i'll be dead before next year," "kwame ate my baby," and "sleep away camp surprise." i also took a stethoscope because the girls in the nurse outfits that were giving people alcohol had no alcohol in them...they deserved it! anyway, then i went to kit, andy, and not peter's apartment (i couldn't really focus on who is now living there...some girl, that i didn't really pay attention to). anyway, the party was interesting. the end. |

so i got back from charlevoix and east jordan last night...being up north really sucked and it was kind of bothersome...i did go golfing, however, which was fun...what was not so fun, was coming back to my apartment and realizing how stuffy it was and then, after like an hour, a cicada flew into my room and freaked me the fuck out...i did kill it but thought twice about keeping my windows open because cicadas are huge and frightening! anyway, so i went to the eagle with kelly and vince and meg white was there! second time in three weeks i saw her....how crazy is that?! it was actually surprising to see her there! that's all. |

GODDAMMITTTTT I HATE MY LIFE (actually, mainly, i hate math classes and the wayne state system!!!!)....WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING TO DO NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i'm so sick of this shit. i took the damn placement test and basically, they were like "you placed into the 0993 level of math" which is like THE WORST math class that they have...and i've already taken that class (2 times...because i really do suck at math...really bad...worse than really bad). i can't believe i did so badly on the placement test! really, what am i going to do? i already took the class two times! i really wish that this shit would just end! i also need to apply to a bunch of places to work because of the fact that i'm broke! fuck! i really hate this! |

the fourth street block party came to a close today (tonight was the second of the two block parties but a lot less people showed up because they only thought that there was only going to be one "fair," which obviously wasn't the case...it's funny because i'm sure that most of the people that showed up and sold shit don't even live on this street and just found it as an event to capitalize on). today, there was a bonfire, a jugband, some amazing food that govenda and his girlfriend christy provided consisting of smoked salmon, sausage, homemade macaroni and cheese, homemade potato salad, and artichokes...it was fucking amazing! there was lots of free beer, and a concert that brad set up in his backyard...the peaceballoon played and some other cool psychedelic garage rock band played...it was pretty interesting. i may be setting up a film night on fourth street which should be cool, and i'll (kelly will also be helping set up the event) be showing some obscure and cool films as well as other foreign films...i can't wait until this comes into fruition...the idea is kind of interesting. this post is done...i'm tired as fuck and because of all of the beer and delicious food i'm freaking out! uggggggggghhhhhhh (not a frustrated ugggggggggghhhhhh but more of a "my stomach hurts with awesomeness 'uggggggggggghhhhhh.'") |

last night was really fucking ridiculous: i went over to lauren's apartment to make chimichangas with ian and lauren and we made some guacamole and then we hung out for awhile and watched arrested development (a pretty big departure from going to the taco stand, watching teenage mutant ninja turtles and drinking tequilas). anyway, so i decided i was going to leave at like 9 in order to get to the aran ruth and magic shop show at jacoby's and it was really cool because i saw this dude that lives in my building and he bought me a bottle of Rebel beer (czech beer...it's delicious). then, after awhile, i saw meg white out the corner of my eye...at first i was like "sometimes you see meg white at random places in detroit, so it's not really all that shocking"...what happened next, was pretty damn shocking...meg and this woman are like "are people sitting here?" and i'm like "no...it's fine" and so meg white is sitting next to me and i'm like freaking out...then this dude from the detroit cobras sits across from me and at that point adam comes back with my czech beer and is like "happy b-day, man!" and then detroit cobras dude is like "really, it's your b-day? happy birthday man!" and then he gives a cheers, and i'm like "this is sweet!" and then he asks me what i did and i told him about seeing the dark knight and he was like "oh man i really wanted to see that!" and then meg joins in on the conversation and then detroit cobras/ magic shop dude gets up to set up his set and meg and i are talking about theatre experiences and i'm like "this is really cool!!!!" and this drunken lady starts talking to me and then i get a beer from her and then after even more time meg and her friend are like "Oh yeah, i know that movie!" and i'm like "really?!" and they're like "no, we're just saving you from this drunk lady" and i'm like "sweet, thanks, gals!!!!" really, meg white is the coolest down to earth woman i've ever met even though in my eyes she's still detroit royalty...the rest of the night was aran buying me a shot of bushmills, inviting me to the lee marvin computer arm party and riding to the party in julie lucas' bf's car...i realized it was julie lucas after like five minutes because she looks almost exactly like loretta...it's insane! my bike nearly fell out of the car a few times and that sucked and i thought i was going to die, plus i had a few discussions with a few other cool people so i guess my night was pretty great and really fucking ridiculous! end. I've said it before and i'll say it again, MEG WHITE IS THE SHIT!!!! |

soooooo: today's my birthday, and i went to see the dark knight at midnight with ian, lauren, lauren's mom, this dude named michael, lauren's younger bro, and two of lauren's cousin's...we all had a deep discussion on how great the film was, on the way back and how great Heath Ledger was (which, to be honest, he really was fantastic and even had he not been dead, he still probably should have gotten respect for he was a great Joker). I loved all of the fan people of the film and how people were clapping at parts of the film and felt an extreme feeling of accomplishment to have seen the film. really, i loved it. later on today i guess i'm going to purchase some tequila, go get some tacos from the taco stand with kelly, ian, and lauren and then, i guess (hopefully this transpires) we may watch teenage ninja turtles (we wanted to throw in a 3-T thing). anyway, i plan on going to see aran ruth at jacoby's as well because i like her music a lot and she's a really cool person as well (she's also my neighbor and it's cool to support your neighbor's because otherwise it's very unneighborly, and that's not cool). basically, be cool to your neighbors and sometimes there needs to be chaos, and someone has to provide that chaos. that's all. |

Ok, so i'm going to advertise this right now: fourth street is having this fundraiser for the block party's music electronics. basically, there will be $2 beers (there's a keg with [i'm not sure if it will the exact kegs will be like they were today] motor city brewing works' pale ale and also ghettoblaster...really, how could you pass it up?! it's going to be great)...they also had food which was (in my, and everyone else there's opinion) the most amazing food there.) I really think anyone in the area should come and support this because the more art fairs in Detroit, the better and it'll be super fun. Please, people if not come to just have a great time and drink some cheap booze.
In other news, today i went to go get my teeth cleaned and my dad handed me my new Antoine Doinel box set which i cannot believe i got it this early...i'm really excited...also, i went to zaccaro's and got some awesome food which means i've been eating way healthier lately. to add to all of these happenings, yesterday, i went to somerset by bus and on the way back kelly and i encountered this creepy jesus freak dude being an asshole and not shutting the fuck up...like seriously, the dude was really fucking loud and his rantings were disrespectful to everyone. anyway, after that, kelly, aaron, and i went to go get some mexican food at the mexicantown restaurant and that was really good. then, after that, we traveled through detroit and looked at all of these abandoned buildings and whatnot and passed through the brewster projects...needless to say, i was freaked out and incredibly sad about the whole thing with all of the missing windows and the line up of disturbingly ghost-town-like area of detroit...like the fact that people still squat in these areas really got me down. anyway, that's it, i'm done with this post. |
